The Madras High Court has strictly instructed all the temples’ authorities of the state to demolish any kind of ‘paid’ and ‘free’ darshan category.
All the devotees visit temples to seek blessings from the deity, hence they all should be provided darshan equally i.e. from a same or equal distance irrespective of their monetary influences. As directed by the first bench of Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice M Sunder, the distance between the diety and the devotee has to be equal or same for all.
This order is supposed to have an effect on many temples, including some temples of the renowned Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanam, where monetary benefits were involved in giving darshan of Lord Venkateswara to the pilgrims.
