Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed Gujarat Pattidar community on Thursday via video conference and appreciated their efforts for building a Dharamshala in Haridwar.
Haridwar is considered the gateway to char dham yatra and millions of pilgrims every year start their Char Dham pilgrimage from here.
Dharamshalas are a part of ancient Indian tradition, providing stay and food for free to pilgrims and creating a sense of community among the devotees.
The Dharamshala that is built is named as Umiya Mata Mandir Trust Dharamshala and PM Modi was very happy that the dharamshala has revived ancient tradition.
Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat said that although it is a Dharamshala, it has got all the modern amenities of a good hotel.
