As per the records, 18.53 lakhs pilgrims visited the shrines of Char Dham this year. With this it has set a record for the highest number of devotees visiting the temples till now. The figure comprises of all the pilgrims visiting Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath and Hemkund Sahib temple. The highest number of pilgrims came from Uttar Pradesh ( 98,161), then Maharashtra (90,114), Madhya Pradesh (75,216) and from Punjab (74,521). Few pilgrims also came from the north-eastern parts of the country like Mizoram (4) and Nagaland (14).
